As Ngetich mentioned in his reply, yes overpopulation plays a role in the pressure, but we are not any near to exhausting potentially arable land. There is still much more to to do before we can hang up the boots on this one.. Yes soils are exhausted too, but again not completely irredeemable. We've been using chemical fertilisers for a much shorter time than the rest of the world, I believe we need yo course correct before it goes from the frying pan into the fire.. We are at a good point in time to fix the future before it's completely out of our control

Would you consider these two as additional challenges?

1. Overpopulation - perhaps the demand for produce simply can't be met sufficiently by our "supply"

2. Depleted - perhaps even destroyed - soils thanks to many seasons of abusive farming practices
